DIN A 13 tanzcompany is one of the few dance ensembles composed of dancers with different bodily capabilities, who explore new approaches to movement language. The artistic approach taken by the company is marked by the exploration and visualization of the quality of movement inherent in “differing bodies“ whose diversity forms the basis for the choreographic work. By means of continual artistical and conceptual development of their productions, DIN A 13 creates a stage where differences become one movement.

CORPO SOBRE TELA

Synopsis

A single body becomes a single brush.
Rather than walking across the canvas, the dancer paints with movement itself.
This work is inspired by the life and art of Irish painter Francis Bacon.
His raw emotions and distorted figures are reborn through motion.
Abstract movements and visceral gestures layer upon the stage,
where dance becomes painting, and painting returns to the body.
The audience merges with the piece and the space, and art poses a question.
The stage is both a canvas and a space of creation.

GO FIGURE

Synopsis

Two bodies exist, distinct yet connected.
At first there is space, but movement becomes the bridge between them.
One examines their own body as if unfamiliar, seeking what defines their movement.
When connecting with another body, a point of meeting is created.
Balance and constraint, misalignment and waiting,
are no longer obstructions, but pathways to capability.
They move forward, rising from the common ambition to be one territory of truth.

VANDE MATRAM ON WHEELS

Synopsis

Dance blossoms upon wheels.
Not through the body, but through the heart, and not as form, but as conviction—it sings of a motherland.
This piece is a tribute to Bharat Mata, Mother India,
expressing cultural beauty and national pride through dance.

The refined gestures of Bharatanatyam, performed on wheels,
convey the richness of tradition and sacred spirit onto the stage,
while the vibrant rhythms of Bollywood burst forth in joy and freedom.

Between the grace of classical and the energy of modern dance,
disability is no longer a limit but a new language.
This stage reminds us that beyond differences, we are one.
Respect, pride, and love, all flow through dance endlessly.

SLEEPERS, WAKE!

But the unwavering support of friends who stood by him,
slowly, these lift him back to his feet.

The past is not a scar to erase,
but a starting point for self-acceptance.

within it lies the possibility to discover oneself and grow.

This journey tells the story of a man learning to reconcile with himself,
and find the confidence to believe in himself again.

PROMENA

Synopsis

Accepting yourself for the way you are,
revealing truth through art and essence.

"Promêna" meaning Czech for ‘transformation’,
just as ice, water, and air, have different forms and yet the same essence.
We too, transform through simple contact and movement.

Movement becomes dance and dance becomes dialogue,
and this in turn transforms us.
Amid constant transition, we ask;
Who are we really?

The body moves, intermingles, cohabits,
filling the gaps left by another.
The body transmutes and the essence flows.
Listen, feel, and transform yourself.

OH! BABY 2025

Synopsis

The body has lost its words,
and silence trembles with desire.
Between misaligned gazes,
loneliness seeps in without a sound.

But then,
a strange, enveloping rhythm,
slowly, ever so slowly,
begins to rebuild emotion.

Oh! baby,
this is not the end,
but a movement that opens the door to new feelings.
